Livestock Manure Management Decree
The Government of Generalitat of Catalonia initiates the final process for the approval of the Decree for the management of soil fertilization and livestock waste.
The objective of this new regulation is to ensure the quality of groundwater and soils, maintaining the viability and sustainability of livestock farms.
There will also be a sanctioning regime in case that a correct management is not done. This regime will accompany the Decree.
Among the different requirements of the new Decree, it will be sought to ensure the traceability of the transport. If the parcel to be fertilized is more than 10km (after two years after the publication it will be 5km), or if it is a service company, it will have to be ensured that the waste transport equipment is equipped with a GPS to be geolocalized and bring the traceability of the applications of the manure.
